The Greg Norman designed BRG Danang Golf Resort is a fun and interesting golf challenge that every Vietnam golfer will enjoy when playing golf in Vietnam. The fairways at this Danang golf course are often generous and there is restrained use of water and OB, however shots must be carefully placed to give better golfers a chance to go for the pins on the well bunkered and undulating greens. The fairways at this course are also lined and well defined by long needle pines, so miss into the trees and you will be forced to punch off the sand and pine needles along a safe line just to get back into play.
Reminiscent of both Scottish links golf and Carolina sand hills golf, Australia's Great White Shark Norman has created something special in Vietnam that will make you want to play this course again and again and come back to golf in Vietnam on a regular basis.

In 2018, the first nine holes of the BRG Danang Golf Resort, Nicklaus Course, added to the breadth of golf on offer at the Danang golf club. Two years later, in 2020, marked the course completion with the opening of all 18-holes.
The Nicklaus Course offers a good test of golf and offers a different style of golf from the original Norman Course, which plays in Dunes and Ocean settings. Most of the golf property is low lying and part of a floodplain, so the entire Nicklaus course stands out among swamps and paddy fields. Several of the holes play adjacent to the Coco River with great views of the surrounding villages and back to Danang City.
A series of interconnected lakes and creeks meander throughout the course with wooden walls framing the holes and separating the greens from the surrounding water hazards. These bullheads are unique and give the Nicklaus Course a distinctly Floridian feel. The materials, not coincidently all imported from the USA, form a crucial feature of other Nicklaus courses and associated playing strategies.
Although water is abundant throughout the course, the fairways, landing areas, and greens are generously broad. Proper selection from a series of six tees on each hole is critical for shorter hitters to avoid long water carries. Stronger golfers will face excellent risk-reward shot selections playing from the furthermost back tees. Long hitters are also able to have a go at all of the par 5's in two as they play 500 yards or less.

The Nicklaus North Course at Golden Sands Golf Resort is already being touted as, “truly authentic golf, a heritage course for a heritage city.”
It has been set up by Nicklaus to be, “the toughest golfing challenge in Vietnam.” As such, the course is reported to be 10 shots harder than any other course in the country.
The course is sculpted into the natural, undulating dunes topography of the area, offering widows to the ocean throughout the whole round. The classical characteristics of the layout include broad, fast rolling fairways, huge greens, and distinctive torn-edged bunkering that typifies the heritage derived from original links courses where golf began over 600 years ago.
