The amount of checked baggage also depends upon your class of travel and any Frequent flyer status you may have with the airline. We suggest you go to your carriers web site and check those details.

Can I access Google, Facebook, Instagram etc while in China?

China has a block on all social media, WhatsApp, Google search engines, gmail etc when using wifi however you can access them when using the mobile network though this does require the use of mobile data. If you wish to have access when on wifi then the use of a VPN (Virtual Private Network) App will help you though once again China tries to block these too. We find Betternet, Hexatech, Express VPN and others do work at times so its best to download an app before you depart. Facetime and text messaging are both accessible without issue over wifi.

Will I have access to the Internet while away?

Most venues provide complimentary Internet. Please be careful when using your mobile devices for internet connection as the cost may be excessive. Check with your provider before departure.

My Passport runs out a few months after I depart for my trip, do I need a new one?

Your passport MUST have 6 months validity from your date of departure for your trip. We recommend that you obtain a new passport well in advance of departure or when applying for any visas.

I take prescription medications ~ what should I do before traveling?

For those people taking prescription medication with you we suggest you obtain a letter from your doctor outlining the medication being carried and bring repeat prescriptions with you in case of prolonged delays.

Do I need vaccinations?

This really does depend on your country of travel. As a general rule, vaccinations are not required. We recommend you enquire with your GP about the need for specific inoculations that relate to your own circumstances and destination of travel.

Should I take cash with me, use a money exchanger or an ATM to obtain local currency?

We suggest taking some of your own currency which you can easily change at the hotel’s reception desk. Note that when withdrawing local currency at an ATM fees can be high so check with your bank first. Using a local money exchanger often provides a more favorable rate but be very careful to ensure they have given you the correct amount of money. We find exchange services at airports to be an expensive way to buy local currencies.
