Golf Courses
Carnoustie
The Championship Course has hosted eight Open Championships, one Women’s British Open and two Seniors Open making it one of the very few to have done so in the UK. It is one of the three courses used for the annual Dunhill Links, the others being Kingsbarns and the Old Course in St Andrews and in 2018 The Open Championship returned to the course.
St Andrews New Course
The oldest ‘new’ course in the world, the second course at the Home of Golf was built by the Keeper of the Green, Tom Morris in 1895 and it was imaginatively named to differentiate from its famous neighbor. Boasting undulating fairways and challenging greens, the New Course is a classic test of links golf.
St Andrews Old Course
The Home of Golf ~ where the game was first played 600 years ago.
The oldest and most iconic golf course in the world. The Swilcan Bridge and Hell Bunker are recognized across the globe, yet the greatest feature of the Old Course is that despite its grand status it remains a public golf course, open to all.
Kingsbarns
Kingsbarns Golf Links is a seaside Scottish links golf course along 1.8 miles of shoreline near St Andrews, Scotland. It opened in 2000 and has been rated as one of the best courses in Scotland. It has also been ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the world, and received numerous media and industry awards
Dumbarnie Links Golf Course
Other than Pebble Beach, there are few world-class courses able to offer such an expanse of beach and water frontage as that we have been blessed with at Dumbarnie Links. Of the 34,000 golf courses currently in play around the world, only 246 of them are authentic links courses. Of these, only around 40 are internationally recognized 5 Star links, and yet over thirty of these appear in The World’s Top 100 Golf Courses. The most famous is the Old Course at St Andrews on the shores of Fife, on the east coast of Scotland.
At first glance Dumbarnie Links may have the appearance of the style of the classic links courses where The Open Championship has been played since 1860. However, the extensive 345-acre site at Dumbarnie is particularly special. Its dual elevations, which are connected by a flowing escarpment, have provided the opportunity to create a number of elevated tees where holes play directly towards panoramic views of the expansive Firth of Forth.
A further outstanding feature is that a number of tees and greens are in close proximity to the water. In fact, fourteen of the holes have views of the Bay and the Firth of Forth.
North Berwick
North Berwick West Links is one of the world's most revered and historic links golf courses, located on the stunning coastline of East Lothian, Scotland. Established in 1832, the course measures 5,870 meters from the championship tees and plays to a par 71, offering a true test of traditional links golf. Renowned for its undulating fairways, stone walls, natural terrain and spectacular sea views across the Firth of Forth, North Berwick rewards creativity, imagination and shot making rather than sheer length.
The course is home to several iconic holes, most notably the famous 15th "Redan", a par 3 that has inspired replicas on golf courses throughout the world, making North Berwick an unforgettable highlight of any golfing visit to Scotland.
St Andrews Castle Course
Perched dramatically on the cliffs overlooking the North Sea and the historic town of St Andrews, the Castle Course is the newest addition to the renowned St Andrews Links portfolio.
Designed by David McLay Kidd and opened in 2008, this spectacular championship links layout combines breathtaking coastal scenery with challenging undulating fairways, expansive greens and strategically positioned bunkers. Measuring 6,180 metres (6,759 yards) from the white tees and playing to a par 71, the Castle Course delivers a memorable test of golf while offering some of the most stunning panoramic views in Scottish golf
