No other destination in Asia packs as much golf variety into a single trip as Thailand. In twelve days, you can play championship-tested courses in five completely different environments — urban Bangkok, coastal Pattaya, heritage-rich Hua Hin, mountain-cool Chiang Mai, and tropical Phuket — without ever spending more than two hours in transit between stops.
This itinerary was built by the CGE Golf team around three principles: maximum course quality, logical travel flow, and genuine off-course value. Every destination earns its place on both golfing and lifestyle merit. The routing minimises unnecessary backtracking. And every day has a clear morning and afternoon structure so you know exactly what each stage of the trip looks like in practice.

Flora Ville Golf & Country Club in Pathum Thani
Your journey begins in Bangkok, a dynamic city where tradition and modernity coexist seamlessly. After settling into a luxury hotel along the Chao Phraya River, ease into your trip with a round at one of Bangkok’s top-tier courses such as Thai Country Club or Alpine Golf Club. Both have hosted international tournaments and are known for immaculate fairways, strategic bunkering, and elite service.
Off the course, immerse yourself in Bangkok’s cultural heartbeat. Explore the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew or take a river cruise at sunset. In the evening, indulge in Thailand’s legendary cuisine—whether it’s fine dining or street-side favourites like pad Thai and mango sticky rice.
A short drive from Bangkok brings you to Pattaya, a coastal hub renowned for its diverse golf offerings. Courses like Siam Country Club (Old Course and Plantation Course) consistently rank among the best in Asia. Expect undulating landscapes, ocean breezes, and panoramic views that elevate every round.
Pattaya also offers plenty of off-course fun. Spend your afternoons unwinding on nearby beaches or visiting Coral Island for snorkelling and crystal-clear waters. At night, the city comes alive with beachfront dining, lively markets, and entertainment options to suit every pace.
Heading southwest, Hua Hin delivers a slower, more refined experience. This seaside town, famously associated with Thai royalty, is home to some of the country’s most scenic golf courses. Black Mountain Golf Club and Banyan Golf Club are must-plays, offering dramatic mountain backdrops and consistently ranked layouts.
Off the course, Hua Hin charms with its relaxed atmosphere. Visit the night markets for local crafts and seafood, or explore nearby vineyards such as Hua Hin Hills for wine tastings with a tropical twist. The balance here is perfect—world-class golf without the bustle of big-city life.
Fly north to Chiang Mai, where cooler temperatures and mountainous terrain create a completely different golfing experience. Courses like Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai Highlands Golf Club combine elevation changes, lush landscapes, and serene surroundings.
Beyond golf, Chiang Mai is a cultural treasure. Visit ancient temples like Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, take part in a traditional Thai cooking class, or explore local handicraft villages. For those seeking adventure, options include jungle trekking or ethical elephant sanctuaries. This leg of the itinerary adds depth and tranquillity to your trip.
Conclude your Thai golf journey in Phuket, where tropical island living meets luxury golf. Courses such as Red Mountain Golf Club and Blue Canyon Country Club offer dramatic designs, with jungle-clad hills and striking elevation changes that challenge and inspire.
Off the course, Phuket delivers everything from white-sand beaches to upscale beach clubs. Take a boat trip to the Phi Phi Islands, enjoy a beachfront massage, or explore Old Phuket Town with its colourful colonial architecture. Evenings are perfect for fresh seafood dining under the stars.
Thai Country Club in Bangkok
▪️ Best Time to Travel: November to March delivers the most consistent conditions across all five regions — warm, dry, and excellent course conditions throughout. April and October are shoulder seasons with good value. May to September brings the southwest monsoon to Phuket and Hua Hin (wetter afternoons) while Pattaya, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai remain largely playable.
▪️ Getting Between Cities: Domestic flights are the most efficient option between non-adjacent destinations. Bangkok (BKK/DMK) to Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai to Phuket, and Phuket to Bangkok are all well-served routes with multiple daily departures from affordable carriers. Bangkok to Pattaya and Bangkok to Hua Hin are best managed by private transfer — both are under 2.5 hours by road.
▪️ Tee Time Booking: Morning tee times (7:00–9:00 AM) should be the default across all destinations. They deliver the coolest conditions, best light, and most comfortable round. During peak season, top courses fill morning slots 4–6 weeks in advance. CGE Golf's relationships with all courses on this itinerary provide priority access unavailable to independent bookers.
▪️ Caddies: Standard at all courses on this itinerary. Caddie fees are either included in the green fee or charged at approximately THB 300–500. Caddies in Thailand provide genuine assistance — club selection, yardage, green reading, and local course knowledge — and are a meaningful part of the experience, not merely bag carriers.
▪️ Budget Guidance: For a two-person, twelve-day trip at 4-star resort level, covering 8–9 rounds across five destinations, a realistic all-in budget (excluding international flights) is approximately USD 3,800–5,500 per person via a managed CGE Golf package. DIY equivalent typically runs 15–25% higher once all elements are properly accounted for.
▪️ Packing Essentials: Lightweight moisture-wicking golf attire (multiple changes per day — Thailand heat demands it), a quality sun hat, reef-safe SPF 50+, waterproof golf shoes (wet season), and a packable rain jacket for Chiang Mai's highland courses.
